Would you like to take your bath under the stars, overlooking the Zambezi tonight?

How would you like to bathe? In the double-sized rain shower inside. Or perhaps outside in the sun or under the moon? Perhaps you’d rather a bath in a clawfooted bath in the cavernous bathroom? Or this? Another clawfooted bath outside under the stars overlooking the Zambezi. The privacy curtains can be drawn if you wish but there’s nobody on the river after dark.
Every room at The Old Drift Lodge near Victoria Falls has all of these options.

Below Vic Falls, the Zambezi flows for many kilometres through gorges like this. The rapids in the foreground are grade 6 in high water and are called “Commercial Suicide” for good reason. You cannot get a rafting company to take you through these rapids at this time of year but they do start a few km downstream.

With so much water coming over the Victoria Falls at this time of year, the main part of the falls is almost entirely obscured by the spray.
